To make this playlist easier to digest, I inserted some non-prog bands that rely highly on melody (Fergie Frederiksen (ex-TOTO), Daniel Lanois (who is known from progsters for his work with Eno), Dale Bozzio & Missing Persons (with a line-up including Zappa alumnis), Alyson Avenue (whose vocalist is the current Nightwish singer),  Phenomena (feat. ex-Trapeze and ex-Deep Purple vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes, and the late Cozy Powell on drums).

I also wanted to share my love for a band from my birth country (Poland), Turquoise, with their first album and the amazing Katarzyna Jajko on vocals (she later left the band, but the remaining members hired the impressive Katarzyna Dudek to accompany the male vocals).

The Iron Maiden title I chose is a cover of the fantastic AOR band, FM, and, although in a typically Maiden-style, is as good as the original.

And if you wonder this number is not on the Playlist, it's a commercial in France, Spain and America. In the rest of the world we cover this commercial with a 2 minute song.

Missing Persons, much more dynamic on stage than on studio, especially regarding the fantastic electronic drums by her then-husband terry.

A great variety of music, 90% prog but others are great choices too. I wish more stations would do this too! No rules only great moozik!!!! Approve

I must add that it's wonderful too that most of the prog are less or unknown thus not the obvious well known big bands. Love it Clap ha!! Awesome! Really Smile

ok, it should be pronounced "lewka bjela" but nevermind.

In case you didn't notice frumpy is a woman ! Yes, difficult to believe...LOL
And there is a passage reminiscent of 'Eleanor Rigby', that reminded me of Wolf's "highway rider (WOlf was a NWOBHM band of the mid-eighties) the first time I heard it (or it should be the other way around as WOlf recorded their song 14 years after the one of frumpy).

Although it's not obvious on the track selected, Sagrado Coraçao da Terra are a symphonic prog band. They are huge in their country, Brazil, the violinist Marcus Viana composed scores for several TV series. Marcus Viana provides (male) vocals for this song.
