I am a comic book nut and I agreeI voted for Spiderman because I like my superheroes flawed, with real problems.Daredevil is cool too.I have always preferred Marvel over DC.The DC heroes, especially in the earlier days, were always too perfect.Batman is cool though,I always liked the fact that he has deep psychological problems and has a very unhealthy obsession concerning his parents death.Plus he has now super-powers and relies on his mind and body.

I meant he has NO super-powers

The Sandman by Neil Gaiman is probably the best comic book ever.

I'm also a big fan of the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers (not forgetting Fat Freddy's Cat) and the extremely juvenile Brit comic Viz, which has a tradition of not being as funny as it used to be going back for over 20 years - 20 glorious years of swearing, toilets and .... eeerrrrmmmm.....

'Like so many of you
I've got my doubts about how much to contribute
to the already rich among us...'

Robert Wyatt, Gloria Gloom

My favorite has to be the Fantastic Four.  Dr. Doom is the greatest villian of all time. 'tis a real shame that the Fantastic Four are being defiled by that horrible movie.

And I am not frightened of dying, any time will do, I
don't mind. Why should I be frightened of dying?
There's no reason for it, you've gotta go sometime.
I never said I was frightened of dying.

The latter being American. I know, I know... The best American comic writer ever.

And Maus by Spiegelman, and...

Sorry, we were talking comix.

Superman and Batman, and Superman is just a tiny little better.

Superman had the best stories, I remember, though Batman came close.

Still I prefer the European school, the Bandes Dessinees, like Asterix, Lucky Luke, the Franquin school, with atomic style and all, Hans Kresse (Holland), and of course Tintin (Herge) and Donald Duck by the good artist, the late Carl Barks.
