I'm not a Metallica fan, but you can get a one CD(-r) full of great tracks from their 80's career. Their "re-loads" and "whiskies in a jar" are terrible. Compared to these St.Anger is a masterpiece (IMO).

It's NOT the worst CD ever! There are probably 2.000.000 CD's that is worse than this. I like the album but it's nothing compared to "Black Album" and "Master of Puppets". |

When I heard St. Anger, my first reaction involved wanting to punch the
producer and engineer that thought "We've got the snare sounding like
exactly like a rubber dodge ball rebounding off a brick wall...
PERFECT!"
My second reaction was... when you make an album that's so obviously an attempt to sound like the bands you originally _influenced_ (Slipknot, Mudvayne, etc.)... it's time to f**king wrap it up. HORRIBLE album. I'm sure there's worse, though. Edited by Empathy |

I think one album of theirs is progressive metal, and that is And Justice for All.That album is prog metal IMHO.Especially the songs And Justice for All and Eye of the Beholder. |

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Well, St Anger (what a name for a CD...) deserve a 0/10 note, but a lot of album also get that note... I think nothing will ever top the sh*it that came out of the 80's... |

I had worse. Like Arcturus "disguised masters"
To me the best Metallica album is "And Joustice For All" then "Master...", "St.Anger" really sucks it`s a big, smelly pile of sh*t and I hate it, but as I said I had worse. So the question should be: Is "St.Anger" the worst Metallica CD? I think more would wote "Yes" then |

NO, loaded was their worst by
far since it was the one bringing all the "transformation shock".. I
remember my uncle got it for my birthday (by accident, he was supposed
to get the black album I had lost) and I said, what the heck, I 'll
listen to it... and then I realised I was swinging from one side to the
other as if I was listening to Greenday.
Not that And Justice For All was a great album either, it was all about death and doom and apart from the a.j.f.a. song and one, the rest were merely catastrophic. At least those days they didn't paint their nails black or wear make up and eye-liner lol |

no - worst ever is franco battiato's "l'egitto prima della sabbie", followed closely by john & yoko's unfinished music albums...
