A good part of their discog is available for free at spotify. Have you guys checked the loads of lenghty proggish tracks? There are even 40 minutes psychedelic rock/electronic tracks, as Temporary Temple & Atonal. And progressive as well. They have my vote. Also, their parent band, Throbbing Gristle, is already on progarchives. Psychic TV is just an extension of their work. Prog related at least.

I remember these guys from the Brian Jonestown Massacre flick DIG! - or strike that, I remember one of the guys from the band sitting very eloquently in a chair - carelessly tearing the whole music industry apart in a couple of sentences. He does it with style though.
I'm not too sure about the prog part of the equation here. Then perhaps we should suggest Brian Jonestown Massacre as well? Their first one called something with Pol Pot's... is rather psych at least.

Hmm, psychy stuff indeed. Pretty weak case, but I'll tell the Psych boys just in case.

Heres some more samples. They're somewhere between Psychedelic, Indus, Acid House, and Avante-Garde. I think Psych is there best shot.

Not terribly sold by the Youtube samples, but like David said, their discog is huge, do does anyone know of any particularly progressive albums the guys have released?

I feel the same, though I don't think many here will agree. The best chance I see is Prog Related.

I'm not sure what subgenre they might be, but I think Psychic TV should be considered a prog band.
After the demise of Throbbing Gristle, PTV started in 1982. They were psychedelic and folky and electronic and tribal and avant garde and so on.
Discuss.
