That said, could he whack The Cap's steel aloy?

His shield you mean?  Not sure on that one. Normally they create these heroes so they equal out in some way.

I think Thor has enough power to turn Tony's suit into a suitwreck, especially since it's not forged by Gods, but by a human.

Thor is of course incredibly powerful but I still don't think  it would be easy. And Tony wouldn't let him. he'd struggle a bit.

Little known fact.  John Steed had superpowers bestowed on him by a magical bowler and mystical umbrella.

Back to this poll's Avengers: erm, I think Thor wielding an MC Hammer would be cool. When it came to hammer time, the MC Hammer would be more invincible than Mjölnir because, well, "can't touch this".

Not really that familiar with these movie version guys.  I like Thor from Norse mythology, and from Douglas Adams' The Long Dark Teatime of the Soul, and I did read the Hulk comics as a kid sometimes, but I have nothing constructive to add to the proceedings.
Just a fanboy passin' through.

When in doubt, side with the one who's a physicist. The Hulk.

Captain America doesn't have super powers either - he is enhanced (by drugs) to the peak of human capability.
What?

it looks awful,  but I will see it on disc--  Vision's gonna be in it?  Sweet.   Actually my favorite Avenger was Black Panther but I don't think he's in the movie is he?

No he isn't. I was joking. But the film looks sweet to me.

I thought I was gonna have to mention this. It is after all why he is the best superhero, no superpowers but the best that a human can be. He is us.

On the shield issue... I don't know the movie lore at all but in comic book cannon it is made of Adamantium Plus. It's the strongest metal known and the recipe was lost. It get's destroyed periodically by extreme circumstances though. Thor crushed it once. In any case human powered Cap America probably couldn't throw it hard enough to slice up Starks robot armour suit.

^ Batman was a "normal" too, but he used his wits and cunning rather than condoning steroid abuse... okay, I know, Batman was Justice League not an Avenger, just sayin'.

Thor is awesome. I'm looking forward to this movie very much. Last year's Thor wasn't that good (imo), so hopefully this will make up for it.

as Dean pointed out, it's 'Detective Comics' ;  Batman was originally a privateering detective, if a flamboyant one.

Okay--   technically Supes has superpowers but I always felt they were only "super" relative to his Kryptonian status: he was far denser and stronger than earthmen but only because he was born to a denser race that'd evolved under harsher conditions.   He was never intended to literally fly.   He would leap, not fly, as made clear by the Max Fleisher animated shorts of the early 1940s (a must see for any comix fan) which fits with him as a super man, but nothing more.   It was later that he began to become airborne and acquired 'x-ray vision'.   Jerry Siegel says of John Carter, an early Superman influence, "Carter was able to leap great distances because the planet Mars was smaller that the planet Earth; and he had great strength" .
