Having only been a prog fan for a few years, I am lucky enough to have seen Rush twice (Columbus 2010 and 2012)
Also, I've gotten to see Yes once, and see UK, Renaissance, Anglagard, and VdGG this past year. Still hoping for one more King Crimson tour, a US Gong tour, and a Camel tour!

I envy you folks who have been able to see your favorite groups live.
As far as me and Triumvirat goes, it is not going to happen. The only member from their classic period that is still musically active that i know about is Jurgen Fritz, who has recently been a part of the Tommy Engel band in Germany. Great in itself i guess, but i am far from Germany, and Tommy Engel's sound is far from classic Triumvirat. And their signature Guitar player/vocalist Helmut Koellen has been dead for 35 years. |

I am in my late 40's and what I have seen in my whole life is Roger Waters - The Wall, Deep Purple and Rush. Yeah, three shows and that's all, but I am happy for this, and all of them were this year (2012). The Wall was an amazing show although the album is far from being my favourite. Deep Purple made my eyes watering - they were only three from the original band but Steve Morse and Don Airey were just spectacular. Unfortunatelly, Rush decided to play songs from their less interesting period (for me, no offense to others) for the most part of their show and from their ultimate album which unfortunatelly I didn't get and probably I will never get into. Veeeeery disapointing.

Do you guys think I should see Terry Riley play "In C" live? Does anybody know if his live renditions are any different from each other?

My favorites are, in no particular order : Rush, Gentle Giant, Opeth, Voivod, Porcupine Tree, Pink Floyd, Yes, Genesis, etc...
I've seen ALL of them live (well if Three Friends count for Gentle Giant, that is) at least twice (except for Pink Floyd).
Man, ain't life grand !!!

My favourite band is Wishbone Ash, but I wouldn't really call most of their stuff prog. However they are listed on this site (as prog related) and I have seen them many times, both as the classic lineup and both present-day bands.
As for "proper" prog, Neal Morse is my favourite prog artist currently, and I'm due to see his band for the first time next month
