Topic: Ricochet: Tangerine Dream Posted: June 13 2012 at 13:30 |
Man that is quite the pickle. I love both sides for different reasons. I will have to get back to you - maybe spin the thing after my Italian metal madness ends in a bit. Should be quite interesting following up ZU - Carboniferous with TD's Ricochet

I guess side two. I think the two parts should have been switched as the piano intro to Pt.2 would make a great beginning to the album.

I don't own the entire album although I have heard Part One. Part Two features on the Dream Sequence compilation (one of the best compilations of any band ever imo) and is stunning from start to finish.

I'm pretty sure I used to have it on LP, but if I did, it was a flood victim, and like all TD albums of that period, it can't be anything but good. With two long tracks I would probably not have a preference. Reminds me I haven't installed the replacement belt for my turntable that I ordered a couple of months ago. A turntable I haven't used in several years.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Ok Ok Its my poll.
I didn't want to have a whole load of don't like and like both votes. I was originally interested in which side people prefered cos I find it difficult to decide. I think that most people who like Ricochet will like both sides so I didn't give the option.
People can always comment on the album anyway.

"Both" would be a good option indeed. But I vote for part 1, which I prefer by the thickness of a hair. Ricochet is my favourite TD album as well.
