Which studio album by Hawkwind featuring Mr Kilmister is your favourite?

Hall of the Mountain Grill. Great balance of heaviness (chugging guitars, basses) and finesse (violins, Mellotrons, keyboards).

Good song, but I actually prefer the Motorhead version on On Parole. |

Hawkwind have never been a band I've been especially keen on, though, I do like Warrior On The Edge Of Time a lot - Heavy, Space Rock at it's best.

I voted for Doremi as it was the first Hawkwind album that I bought. Got the Silver Machine 7" when it came out then saved pocket money for an album and Doremi was the only one in the store. I still play it to this day and recently bought a re-issue vinyl. I also love Warriors but Lemmy's contibution is probably best heard in Hall.

Easily Warrior on the Edge of Time, Hawkwind's best album.
It's a crying shame that the record company "lost" the original master of the album, so we won't be seeing it re-issued on cd again. That is what I call a disaster.

Hi,
The first Hawkwind album I ever got was Do Re Mi ... and it was ok ... and I did not dislike it. But it was "Space Ritual" when I saw it at Moby Disk that came home right away ... and it was much better than Do Re Mi in my book.
In the Hall ... is probably one of my favorite openings of any album ... all the way to the title piece and instrumental by Simon House ...which to me was an even better addition to the band!

I always thought that something was wrong in that album. That the pieces that had Michael Moorcock were not complete or ... in the wrong place. His work in Science Fiction is not that fragmented and poor, and seeing thismade me think that it simply was not right.
As for the tapes?
IF, the whole thing did not sound, or come off as good as ... we hoped ... yeah ... maybe the tapes should be lost. But I kind of doubt that since one particular person in Hawkwind, and he is the boss, has more tapes than anyone else in the business!
