Thanks guys!

Yeah Dave, that Mirrors review probably had a few people rolling their eyes.  I have a tendency to really like some of the more reviled members of certain discogs, and BOC is one of them.  Love Agents and Mirrors though they are different beasts.

Thanks!
Honestly, your excellent Mirrors review (and unique perspective it seems) was the final catalyst in getting me to review AoF. It also has me interested in checking out Mirrors again, an album I've never actually listened to much outside of a couple of times in the past, which is what good reviews do.Thumbs Up

John I liked your Ghost review!  That live Nippon DVD still haunts me (in a good way).

I noticed they had not done anything for a while so I checked it out.  They disbanded in 2014, so I updated their artist page.  The lead guy has a new band called The Silence.

Thanks Michael, I was hoping you would do it first because you suggested them. Anyway I look forward to your review down the road.Thumbs Up

Great to see Mellotron Storm/John's great review of the Abraxis album on the front page right now. That album has been one of my personal favourite belated discoveries of the last few years with the recent CD reissue, so it's great to see more love for it!

I will put aside David's (Atavachron) current run of exquisite reviews for the moment and mention a good example of a nicely put critical review by Jeff here - nice one! I could even probably (just) forgive him for rating Tyranny with 2*

Shocked the crap out of me. Rating n' all.

It's scary how open minded Michael is. Love your diplomacy brother!!!

I'll be honest, mate, and I've kind of already mentioned this elsewhere on the Archives a few weeks back...I was trying to write a rave review for an album I generally don't like much at all! There are endless things that I like the album for - the arrogance, the pomposity, the ambition, the skill of the playing...in other words things that are so absurdly `proggy' about it, and I appreciate how it drives home the `album format' in an era when said format is more or less dying and hardly given much importance from general music listeners anymore - while at the same time not really enjoying the album personally much at all - if that makes sense?!

If you read it very carefully, you might even notice that I conveniently don't ever give my personal opinion on it once!

Michael, your level of contribution to the site has really reached a level deserving of much admiration.  Genre team work is one thing to be admired, but your reviews are consistently high quality, wide ranging, engaging, respectful.   Kudos my friend.

Question

These reviews are embarrassing and bizarre, even troubling.

Shocked

Next time someone tells me they like Metallica, I'll just tell them it's an island-based perversion.

On the other hand, he may be onto something - I like Metallica (first three albums) and I'm an island based pervert LOL
