By the way I agree with others about Learsfool's reviews being excellent. I love when someone new joins the site and goes crazy with reviews.

Thank you. Smile

Speaking of which, I just read your Swans review. Nicely done. Other friends have been recommending this one and your review just sealed the deal. Thumbs Up

Nice. Hope you enjoy it.

Well I have to say it again, because he is one of the few reviewers where I actually stop and immediately read when he posts a review.....I LOVE Conor Fynes' writing, his love of music, and his reasoned assessments.  And as a bonus he judiciously rates albums in the spirit of the guidelines for the different star descriptions.
Thanks Conor and have some clappies  ClapClapClap

Merry Christmas!

Michael I just read your review of that Suono! record. I'm tracking that one down for sure. Anything that's not polished and has character is right up my alley. Great review man!

I just caught that one, I knew you'd like it ma man but I never thought it would turn into a 5 star album! Clap
Thanks for the honorable mention too! I was really surprised to see you reviewing this album, I thought you already forgot about it, keep up the good work.
BTW I think their debut would also be an excellent addition to your collection...if you can find it.

Cheers Raff, John, Sagi!

My credit goes to Sagi! My friend, you kept mentioning that title to me! I order heaps of Italian discs, but that was one that simply got past me. It wasn't total love at first listen, but then all of a sudden it fell into place. Now I can't stop listening to it, and it just gets better and better on heaps of plays. Thank you!

Great review too, Raff!

Cheers, Sam, my pleasure! I probably would never have bothered with the album if you hadn't mentioned it. It's nothing too special, but it has some worthwhile spots. Although I got the CD damn cheap, I still probably paid a couple of dollars too much!

LOL I saw a LP copy of it the other day, but there are a lot of Vangelis albums I should get before.

^ the ability to ignore lyrics helps on the receiving end, but I just wish that all bands would cut the cr@p .. sorry, I meant drop or de-emphasize the lyrics .. and concentrate on playing some lovely music instead :)

I likewise agree with this aglasshouse's review, and I also rated The Wall "for those who have nothing else to listen to", or whatever?

Same subject, different band: When Steven Wilson starts spinning his yarn on FOABP, mumbling and garbling through the most depressing story of life-weary teens who get stoned and pass out in front of their computers, I feel like, "OK, Wilson, I hear you, and you sure are a helluva wordsmith, but please feel free to shut the uck fup any time and play us some tunes!".
