By the way, congratulations, John, you're an inspiration to many of us rambling writers for the front page!

Thanks for that, Dave, and sorry you don't dig the Unreal City vocals! Don't get the Garth Brooks comparison though!

*****

Really nice to see Ken giving a bit of attention to a VERY underappreciated and low-key Italian obscurity from the Eighties, La Nuova Era's self-titled work. It's as far from an essential LP as you can get, but I've always had a soft spot for it.

Thanks Michael, also for the inspiration of your own review.  I'm all about reviewing the unheard and under-reviewed.  Obscurity has its own intrinsic values and pleasures and there is no better place than prog folk for that, even if La Nuova Era doesn't really fall in that category (folk)

I was surprised to see Sagi on the main page with two very enthusiastic reviews. That new Dreadnaught must be a ripper!

Good reading you again though and contrats to Canada's most flexible man on his 4000th review

As an aside, I really enjoyed Michael's recent review of Samuel's debut as well as the new one by Unreal City (man if only that thing had been instrumental!!! I absolutely adore the music - oh my - but those godawful sing-along type vocals drag the album way down. Why would they do that?!!!!??? Going from a hundred miles an hour instrumental prog rock bliss to Italian Garth Brooks vocals in a flash

Your too kind Bamsen but please go on...
Your scaring me about the new Unreal City, for me this has been a down year for RPI and I know people will disagree but for my tastes I couldn't even do a top three RPI poll for this year. I'll be checking UnrealCity out in a few weeks with fingers crossed as they were my last hope as it were.

Thanks Michael I do like to ramble on here but in real life it's hard to get me even talking.LOL Why do you think I review like I do? Anyway I'm always happy to see you on the front page, your very thoughtful and well spoken and of course our tastes will differ but being on here reading and talking about music is one of life's pleasures.

It's so good seeing you back reviewing Sagi, have you checked out THE TANGENT's new one? Hopefully you'll jump back in here more often but I know life can be so busy.

No John, actually I'm not a fan of The Tangent, I listened to them a few times but nothing really grabbed me...
I read your review, so I will be checking out the album when it gets to utube.

Oops sorry Sagi I'm mixing you up with someone else.
Hey I was really interested in that Pinguin album after Damo's review, now Silly Puppy reviews it and I'm drooling at this point. An obscure Krautrock album from the early seventies that few know about, sounds really good.

Thanks old friend! I find that MitG just seems to get better over the years. I can't say that about too many other albums. Except TAAB. Wink

When John uses the word "Mellotron" twelve times on a single review, it's got to be something special :D
I'll give it a second listen shortly ;)

siLLy puPPy got me interested in Coma Cluster Void with that amazing review. Or maybe I'm just hypnotized by the use of "orotundity".

Oh, I'm about to review that new band Weserbergland that has Froislie on it, the mellotron man in Wobbler, but sadly he's just adding synths and clavinet.

Wow, my condolences to Mellotron John, Kenneth, Steve, Hypnotoad and others and their sterling recent efforts currently on the front page being bumped around by a bunch of dogsh*t Metallica `reviews'
