I strongly echo that sentimentClap Very nice album that has put Canterbury music back on the map imo, albeit with a romantic RIO vibe to it.
Love it to pieces.

I would recommend it as a gateway into RIO, with maybe French TV.

Scott: Looking at your review list, I would like to suggest an album in indo Prog/ Raga Rock that I think I've mentioned to you before, Clivage's Mixtus Orbis.   I see that it's your lowest rated category overall, and the one that you have reviewed the least in -- just this one review:2 starsSHAKTI WITH JOHN MCLAUGHLIN Shakti with John McLaughlin | review

I'm actually a little csared recommending the Clivage as I like that Shakti album even if it's not a particular favourite of mine from that category (another particular fave of mine has been Malachi's Holy Music).  I think it's a great category deserving of more attention.
Just a fanboy passin' through.

Excellent review for Maxophone Scott Thumbs Up
This masterful album was my introduction to the RPI genre and it remains my favorite album till this day. I'm glad you liked it so much, I wouldn't hesitate on rating it with 5 stars.

I really like Gatot's latest review that appeared on the front page a day or two ago of Arena's `The Seventh Degree Of Seperation', a bit of an underrated album!

http://www.progarchives.com/Review.asp?id=852184

I like the album's combination of more accessible pieces with progressive elements throughout. Maybe one or two dross tracks, but mostly very decent! Glad to see someone really profess some love for it!

Oh, and a shout out to Scott's current Asia `XXX' album - somebody has to warn the people!

Finn just posted a wonderful review of Caress of Steel. I agree with him on many points and share the amazement of the album and both epic's low rating.

Thanks man....I appreciate that....but its just an opinion more than a review....

When I'm writing about an obscure album only 5 people have heard, I'll go into great detail to inform them about the band and say what the music sounds like, I think that is where my strength lies.....on the famous albums like Rush where there's already 5000 reviews, I'll just basically give a quick opinion....for people who share my general taste.  Those looking for a detailed assessment of the tracks on famous albums already have a bunch of better ones than I could write.  Smile

When I saw your review of Clockwork Angels, I said to myself << that album is going to be awesome >>
I love your reviews Scott, and if you die now, I think this site is going to be boring.
We have two things in common. Our user names comes from different bands.
But we have some differences. I'm not a Star Wars Fan and I don't like Dream Theater. If you don't want to be on the Symphonic Team (I hope that's in a long time), I can replace you any time.
Cheers Scott (if I move in Australia, I would like you to be my teacher)

I also like the reviews of Finnforest, SouthSideOfTheSky, ConorFynes, Epignosis and ClemofNazareth. Others come to mind but I Don't see their usernames. I would also like my friend The_Jester to be a collaborator.
Jim, the main member of perhaps also love my reviews.

I really love Horizon's review of "Gloss Drop" by Battles. Just reading the review got me all excited about hearing it, sure enough I'm loving Battles so far.
