I still don't understand how it can be described a "World Cup" when most of the world is missing.

That was fast!!
Well, I know Trespess for a few years now and I really like their first album, but never heard the second one. 6la8 I'm not familiar with but I read a lot of reviews lately, they are much more popular than Trespess so I think they have a better chance of winning, need to hear em' first. |

I wasn't previously familiar with Trespass, but I was with 6LA8. I really like 6LA8's pure ambient albums (specifically the Wanderings series), but their more post-rock oriented stuff is boring as hell.
Those Trespass samples impressed me quite a bit, so I'm voting for them. |

Im unfamilliar with all of these artists, so I'm excited to see if I can get into this kind of music.

I actually like the idea of this tournament, it will be nice to get to know yet a bit more bands from farther countries... but somehow I wish this one had come once the Latin American one had been done. Two cups seem to be a bit too many, and am not sure I'll be able to follow them adequatley. Even less so get the albums I might be interested in. By the way, I liked better the idea of having two songs from each band, that can give a bit better idea of what the band is about (of course, it's more work for the cup organizer).

Oh well, just checked the videos, and found that there are two for Trespass, and a link to a page with 6LA8's discography... would anyone just recomend a few songs from this band to check out? I just don't know where to start.

From what I've heard so far 6la8 are fine but nothing gets me too excited, and if I'm not in the mood it is very boring. In the other hand I love Trespass although I haven't heard their second album (the video here is good).
Funny thing is just a few days ago I posted two of their videos here in the "Rising keyboard virtuosos" thread, and said Gil Stein is very very good and the band is pretty cool, I'm glad more people had the chance to listen to them. |

Well, with 6LA8's video posted here, I guess I'll be going with Trespass. 6LA8's video was as a matter of fact very pleasant... I would have thought that clocking at over 20 min, and being so extremely tame and uneventful it would be extremley boring, but as a matter of fact it was very beautiful. Still, I think Trespass's songs were more interesting.
