I mean, as much as I love the album AGAETIS BYRJUN, "best song" has to be "Njosna Vélin." Otherwise known as "Njósnavélin" and "Track 4" and "Sigur Ros 4 (Untitled)" from the album called (), this song *has* to merit serious contention and should place highly, if it doesn't win. The only reason it won't is because of the confusion over the song's actual name. Brilliant track nonetheless.

Svefn-g-englar was the first song I heard by them. Fantastic, and it remains the best song by far that I've heard by them. (But that ending is so unnecessary, especially annoying if you have the volume turned up very high.)

My apologies for bringing this thread back. I just couldn't let this one slip by me, considering Sigur Ros being one of my favourite bands. In my opinion, two Sigur Ros pieces that I find to be the most definitive, representative and best example of what Sigur Ros is all about, would probably have to be Svefn-G-Englar or Njosnavelin/ Untitled #4. Both summarize and completely capture the essence of their cold, Nordic, ethereal sound. My personal all time favourite, though, would have to be Viorar from Agaetis Byrjun.

I like that one that starts all slow but builds up to be really intense and emotional.
