"Extreme" avant-garde (makes Trout Mask Replica sound like Abbey Road)

Todays fave was Gates of Delirium.  I hadn't heard it for at least a couple years and it sounded great.

A nice symphonic prog track and debut video by very promising young band Kings Awakening.

Electric Orange's NeuronomiconHeart For some weird reason, there's only uploaded the second half of the track on YouTube...

Put on some old Belle and Sebastian albums today and it really hit the spot.  As much as I enjoy ugly, difficult music, there's a place in my heart for warm, tasteful folky indie pop like this.  I'm not a huge fan of this style normally, but this group always makes it sound honest, intimate, and real.

Not necessarily my favorite, but this song can't find its way out of my head for quite a few days. It's especially good in the context of the album, as some kind of final release.

Rerun. I simply cannot stop listening to this tune. It's becoming a habit. I'll listen to it 5 or 6 times a day.

Love the scat singing, lazy bass work, and those fabulous reeds finishing the piece. Never fails to make me smile and dance, this oneBig smile

^ Guldbam, I can't get past the infectious groove and laid-back jammin' of 'Don't Make Me Cry' !!  Such an underrated gem, this TonTon Macoute album.

Talk Talk's "Tomorrow Started" - here's a nice live version from '86.  This predates their radical reinvention into the originators of what we now call Post Rock, but by this time they were already moving into artier waters.
