I haven't really listened to Procol Harum much but it's worth noting that Whiter Shade of Pale was my parents first dance.

In no particular order, if only slightly chronological (I was too lazy to take out the numbers in front of the songs)
1. Conquistador 5. Cerdes (outside the gate of)
6. Whiter Shade Of Pale 10. Repent Walpurgis 3. Skip Softly (My Moonbeams) (3:47) 7. In Held Twas in I (17:31) 1. A Salty Dog (4:41) 7. Wreck of the Hesperus (3:49) 8. All This and More (3:52) 9. Crucifiction Lane (5:03)
2. The Dead Man's Dream (4:46) 5. About to Die (3:35) 8. Whaling Stories (7:06)
1. Simple Sister (5:48) 6. Song For A Dreamer (5:36) 7. Playmate Of The Mouth (5:03)
Nothing past Barricades, though...

I've spend almost 50 years thinking Procol Harum, at their peak, was the best ever. Heard nothing to change my mind during that time, though some have come close.
"Your Own Choice", from Home, a personal fave. Not mentioned yet, which is par for the course.
Your Own Choice lyrics There's too many women and not enough wine Too many poets and not enough rhyme Too many glasses and not enough time Draw your own conclusions
My old dog's a good old dog My old man's a silly old sod The human face is a terrible place Choose your own examples
Went to the river, but I could not swim Knew I'd drown if I went in Lost my faith in a terrible race Rest-in-peace hereafter

Just saw them with Yes earlier this 2012 year. They are so under-rated. Brooker's voice sounds just like it did in the hey day. Conquistador Whiter Shade of Pale Salty Dog Repent Walpurgis Whaling Stories Homburg Simple Sister Fires Wreck Of The Hesperus Grand Hotel

The band deserves to be re-discovered. So many people know Procol only for their miliar stone Whiter Shade of Pale. This band has so much to offer and the music is no less varied and exciting. Home is also my favourite album. Rock and dark record.
