Great (relatively) new Progressive Electronic band Sumo Elevator from Israel incorporate regular drums-bass-guitar-keyboards, as well as the less conventional computer electronic sounds, flute and even a scratching DJ (!) into their music. Their EP (Ho-Muwa-Ku) released in 2008 is highly recommended, as is their debut album, Breakfast (2011)! Good sample tracks for the decision would be Best Retards, Pedal Horse or Overhead from the album. Edited by guyeylon - October 10 2012 at 10:09 |

Hhmmmmm...........
This is hard. I mean, I do find this music to be progressive, but the infusion of both breaker beats and nu jazz/fusion gets me really confused. Then there's a somewhat psychedelic feel to the guitars at times reminding me of Porcupine Tree. All of this hint at eclectic, but then again I don't really think it fits in there at all. Maybe? Ok, now I am hearing something completely different with track 4 ![]() Allright I am swinging this by eclectic. I know it's way out of the norm, but with all of these changing facets to the music going from fusion to electronic to psych to heavy to lord knows what, I see no alternative. Either way - very interesting mix of styles here!

I suppose you're right with the category... Nothing else seems to fit, this is no Tangerine Dream we're talking about here ;)

Eclectic team have quite a few suggestions to work through from what I gather. You're probably gonna have to be very patient with this...and they don't use progfreak either, so we can't readily 'check up on them' from time to time as we can with several of the other teams, who work far more openly using the publicly accessible charts on the progfreak.com site.

That's early days yet - there are suggestions for Eclectic going back many months now which all seem to be held in a time warp. |

Sumo Elevator has been approved by Eclectic. I have added them. If someone can help add the albums, I would greatly appreciate it.
