I could never follow a show on television (commercials mess with my mind).
The only televised program I watch is chronological Twilight Zone on Netflix. I've got a friend who likes Breaking Bad and I highly respect his input, so I'll probably try that one if I can find an extremely cheap means of seeing it sans commercials. He also recommended to me Twin Peaks, which was apparently run by David Lynch. Luckily for me, Netflix has all of it. For some silly reason Netflix shows every season of the original Twilight Zone except the fourth.

He gave her his town house and his racing horses. Each meal she ate was a dozen courses. She had a million dollars worth of nickels and dimes. She sat around and counted them all a million times.

No love for the Dead on here.
Are people sick of the Zombie genre?

My wife would vote for Game of Thrones (I haven't seen it yet), my brother would vote for Breaking Bad - but I have to go with The Walking Dead. However, if you had included Lost and/or Battlestar Galactica, I'd have gone with one of those. (And if you included both of those, my head would have exploded

I'm looking forward to watching the new critically acclaimed French zombie tv show Les revenants, which will be shown in England under the title The Returned. Americans will have to find... other ways... nudge nudge wink wink... to watch it... (After all, Americans don't want to watch shows in foreign languages like French and British English.) Did anyone see that show The Fades? Axed last year after only one fantastic and much-loved season, this was a kind of ghost/zombie/(vampire?) film, in which ghosts attain human form by eating the flesh of the living, and continue to feast on the living. A curse on BBC Three for cancelling the show!!!! Les revenants/The Returned: http://www.guardian.co.uk/tv-and-radio/2013/jun/07/british-television-subititles

I did a mini review of THE FADES on my site.
Ever seen THE SHADES (2011 UK)?
Here is my "review":
"
Six episode, afterlife-theme drama series starring Stephen Tompkinson & Dervia Kirwan, (both who had lead roles in the Irish series, Ballykissangel.) Mark & Maeve never knew each other. They die on the same day and find themselves ghosts (although the word is never said) wandering the parks and streets of London. Where this "ghost" story differs from others is that: 1/the British show that ABSOLUTELY no special effects are necessary to make an absorbing ghost story 2/the "ghosts" are seen by the Living as being everyday mortals EXCEPT BY THE DECEASED'S LOVED ONES/RELATIONS. Let me put this another way: the Dead are not allowed to communicate or show themselves to those they knew when they were alive, but they are corporeal to complete strangers. Also , the strangers forget the ghost immediately on being parted from its company. Mark dies after routine surgery to his hernia. He leaves his wife, child and newly-born baby penniless. Since they cannot see or sense his spirit, but CAN see Maeve's (since she is not related), Mark uses Maeve as the go-between to try to help his widow wife out. BUT Maeve cannot tell the wife that she (Maeve) is dead or that her husband is always there at her side.(It is not explained in the series why this is so.) Also, not explained, is the fact that of what has to be more than TWO people dying in the whole of London that day, Mark & Maeve are aware of no other "ghosts". The answer is made cleverly subtle: you, the watcher, get the implication that these two mismatched souls cast together in this strange afterlife upon current-day London; are indeed not "ghosts" but powerless angels chained to present day Earth. As they struggle to come to terms with their own curious condition and to somehow aid their greiving relations/lovers, they stumble upon other mortals caught in their own personal tradgedies - and they try to help. Touching , gentle series with the caring Tompkinson being perfectly cast." |

I really enjoyed Fringe...but Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, and Breaking Bad are all excellent.
