Camel don't have a year like Tulls 1971 or 72. If you have the 2 cd remix of aqualung there's 5 or 6 top tracks on each disc. That's how good a composer Ian is and I never cared for my god or wind up on the original cd either. Camel are my 2nd or 3rd fave band though. I'm not a big fan or mirage and snow goose either. It's moonmadness, rain dances and breathless which make the band IMO. I love the debut and nude too

Camel - for me, the greatest band in history.

I really like Tull and they made several superb albums (Aqualung, TAAB, Heavy Horses, Minstrel in the Gallery, Songs From the Wood), but Camel have Mirage, The Snow Goose (the peak of all prog), Moonmadness, Nude, Stationary Traveller, Rajaz and A Nod and a Wink, all of which are quite superb.
A TVR is not a car. It's a way of life.

Camel! love the two JT albums i've heard though(Aqualung and TAAB) but the first four Camel one's are amazing, maybe not the debut but that's still pretty great.

Camel, I'm surprised to see them winning by this much.

I too am surprised Camel is winning, and even more by such a wide margin. I do love both bands, and as far as complete albums go, I don't like any Tull album as much as Mirage, and perhaps even Snow Goose and Moonmadness are stronger than any Tull album as far as I'm concerned. But it is because of the collection of songs by themselves (specially live) that I tip the balance in favor of Tull.

Nah. I don't find the compositions that great apart from a few songs.
I don't like Lady fantasy much. A few bland straight forwrad rock ideas mainly. The start is nice although it sounds like the Doors

Both great bands and both in my top fifteen with Camel in my top five. I've seen both bands live but only once each. I think JT are a little inconsistent but considering their long career that's certainly understandable. Camel have a few clunkers too I'm sure but for my taste Camel have a warm emotional sound that I find is lacking in Tull's music. Tull does scratch that folky itch pretty good some times though.

Camel were great but they have been pretty boring over the last 30 years.

I really, REALLY enjoy both bands, but I have to give Camel the nod here.  I seem to go back to them more consistently AND I own more Camel albums than I do Tull albums.

Stand Up is the only great album (IMO) from the two bands so I voted for Tull.

Lots of very good albums from both bands though.

[QUOTE=Wanorak]Tull by a mile; much more diverse than Camel. Camel to me seems to have one speed. I'm very surprised by the results so far. IMO Tull beats Camel in every category; music, lyrics, singing and performance!![/QUOT
IMO camel is way better .[i like tull tooSmile] but   Tull beats Camel in every category [ i don't see it that way ];Ermm

music [for me camel have something in their music, maybe the feeling  the melody ,maybe a sound that a dont find anywhere else ,is hard to explain but that's  make the difference ],

lyrics, is hard to beat Anderson in that area  ,but i never care about lyrics and camel have a lot the instrumental songs

singing   i dont know if is better that  Richard Sinclair ,and when you have a lot of instrumental songs who cares

performance i prefer a band that  just play .[just the band the people and the music. you should check their DVD coming of age .is fantastic  ] .

IMHO CAMEL WINS  Thumbs Up
Nothing can last
there are no second chances.
Never give a day away.
Always live for today.
