RES0NAXIS, from Australia

Formed in 2005, the Sydney-based band consists of Brooke Shelley (vocals), David Drury (pipe organ, vocals), Matt Roberts (drums). Following the 2007 release of their EP, Videntes stellam Magi, Resonaxis’ debut CD, Resonaxis, featured music that drew inspiration from ancient chants, church psalms, renaissance polyphony, baroque musical forms, dance music, Scandinavian metal and jazz.  Along with Michael Sheridan on guitars, guest performers on the CD included renowned bassist Steve Elphick, Theorbo player Tommie Andersson, and baroque string musicians from the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra. Resonaxis’ music and interviews have featured on Australian national and community radio, on online international radio and in international publications. Their follow up album, Hymnarium includes Richard Hundy (guitars) and Adam Bodkin (bass), and consolidates the original idea behind forming the band of combining rock/metal with renaissance music (from the official website)

hhmm well, I hear some folk trades as well as the obvious symphonic tweeks, but I have a feeling that these guys will have the best chance in xover. The material is largely build up around basic song structures.
