I like both artists quite a bit, but I have to give the edge here to Phideaux.  In fact, I would consider Phideaux to be one of my top five modern prog artists.
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

Ayreon and Phideaux, two great artist actually very up on my preferences. LOL

Even if they are listed in two different sub-genres, they look very similiar to me.Unhappy

Two one man band, and two genius able to convey their creativity on several masterpiece, and able to coordinate the support of several guest artist into the same.
Melodic and powerful at the same time they have on my opinion both strong roots in the most classic Prog, and attention to the new sound offered at present too.
