No connection between any of these albums, vote for your most preferred.

Edit: I voted "First Utterance"

It's between Magma and Comus but  First Utterance gets my vote here.

I'd recommend you listen to First Utterance... just once, to see what it's like.

Didn't like Comus all too much the first time I heard it, but it's gradually grown on me since. Eros is a grand album though - probably my favourite Zeuhl album actually; Wurdah Itah is just behind. Don't worry, there had to be some Magma in there. Wink

First Utterance is the best of these, but I voted for Opeth because Orchid is their most underated album and needs some love.

Probably my favorite Zeuhl album too. Easily gets my vote, with every other album a little behind (except the Ozric Tentacles one. Ozric Tentacles has made some major masterpieces, but that one isn't one of them)

First Utterance would be my favorite if not for the lyrics ("So they gave me some treatment!"). Eros, on the other hand, has no lyrics, and that is fantastic.

wait, you don't like Comus' lyrics? I always thought they were fantastic. really interesting poetry with a lot darker and occult themes than most prog.

Going to vote Dun `Eros' here, even though I'm a fairly recent convert to it. I can't help but feel it's a bit of an influence on Anglagard?

I like the Ozrics `Swirly..' album too, just not one of their classics! Very reliable though, and a pleasant listen!

This thread also reminds me that I need to check out that Comus album....I've never heard it, and I don't think I can recall an album that pops up more constantly on the forums. Quite a big status it's got, so I need to explore!

Magma Attahk - What a conflicting little album that is! Some great stuff, some poorer stuff, but totally 100% bat-s**t insane lol!

While the first track is a total killer and Magma classic (listen to that drumming!), the whole album is an odd mix of zeuhl, disco, gospel, funk and scat-vocals, pretty sure there's even a bit of James Brown in there too!

We agree on everything, don't we? Wink

That Comus album is good (when you're in the mood for a 100% bat-s**t insane album) but I have yet to get into it.. Sounds to me like some crazy acid heads, but good stuff.. Vocals are a bit like Family, but I love that band far more.. Give me more time, and I'll learn to love it.

But yeah, that Dun album is fantastic Big smile
