Which type of tea do you prefer?
I was bored, so I decided to find out which is overall the preferred type of tea among proggers. I vote black.

Green, but some black varieties are fine (like Earl Grey).

Black Is what I drink I think. But I drink it white! I'm confused. What is white tea?

It has to do with the way the tea is processed. White tea is made from young leaves that are only minimally oxidized, black tea is made from tea leaves that are fully oxidized. |

I like mostly Assam although some darker Darjeelings are also nice. Twinings' Price of Wales blend is good, which I think has some greens in it but is basically a black tea.
Stash in the U.S. has some really good black teas like their Chinese Keemun and several Assam blends. |

I quit drinking coffee a month ago or so, just to try to be less dependent on caffeine. But as a consequence I'm drinking more black tea now.. I like various kinds, but am not a fan of smoked tea like Lapsang...I used to really like it. I have never felt any caffeine effect from green tea, but I've read that it is supposed to have caffeine, just half as much compared to black tea.
I like green tea though. But it's very different from black tea. It gives a healthy feeling. |

).I'd say I like Lady Grey the most, but I quite like Bigelow's Constant Comment. |

Oolong for me too. Followed by green (I particularly enjoyed the strong flavour of Longjing), white (with rose petals) and I seem to have developed a taste for rooibos as well. And I only use loose leaves.

At the moment I'm currently drinking a tea called Melbourne Breakfast, which is a strong brew with a little bit of vanilla and honey, I think. I like most kinds of tea, but I have a friend who only drinks strong teas, and won't have any teas like Earl Grey, Lady Grey, Green, Herbal or anything like that.

Green tea for me. Plain green and green with jasmine are delightful. Although some black teas are lovely; I rather enjoy Lapsang Souchong, Earl Grey, Lady grey and a delightful brew I was gifted by the name of Spiced Imperial (cinnamon, vanilla, citrus peel and cloves). And also, completely herbal teas (non tea-teas!), the most lovely of which is the Bedtime brew from Yogi Tea. It truly is a sumptuous feast for all the senses, were it not for the fact that it technically contains no tea per say and is instead a blend of ayurvedic herbs and spices, I would probably say it is my favourite.
Man...I love tea...
