I just heard a half album of No Doubt at the student cafeteria today and i really remember how good the band it was spessialy the album Tragic Kingdom, lots of good ska, funk, punk, sexy and groovy music, with the hotest singer of the 90s in lead vocals, (who was hypnotized by Gwens lips at the Don't Speak video), the band itself is really good musicians i think, a realy tigh unit with a very tight and kicking pocket, the basslines is really good and they sound really crisp and spunky,
this is my favourite song by them |

I would rather shave my eyeballs with a red hot razor blade than listen to No Doubt or Gwen.

They always reminded me of bands like Mano Negra and Los Fabulosos Cadillacs who both play with similar ska ad punkand latin influences.

it also remeinds me of a cross between the Police, RHCP, EWF and Supertramp (they even borrowed from Supertramp on one song)

I think it's great as is the whole album. They had a whole funky, aerobic side that most of the typical alt rock guitar bands of the era didn't, it set them apart. The musicianship was top notch. Can't understand why people didn't like them, unless of course you just hate Stefani's voice/style, in which case there isn't much the band can do. And I disagree with the notion that Tragic is their only good album. Saturn was great too, as are some of their early tracks from the ska-punk-pop era available on a compilation CD. If you can find their live Tragic Kingdom DVD/vhs, grab it. It kills. Edited by Finnforest - February 13 2013 at 15:59 |

I first heard No Doubt on the radio when Don't Speak was released, and the sound impressed me immediately - clean, controlled guitar, loping bass, and that voice! moving between little-girl wistfulness and sobbing passion. Matthew Wilder pulled magic out of them on that one.
I haven't enjoyed anything else I've heard from either the band or Stefani. |

Me and my friends played Tragic Kingdom to death when we were teenagers. I still think it's a pretty good record.
