I found this article on Popmatters about their "Ten Songs From 1967 That Shaped Prog"

http://www.popmatters.com/pm/post/169130-ten-songs-from-1967-that-shaped-prog-rock/P0/

It's certainly an interesting list, though I wish they made it a 20 song list if only to include these:

"A Day In The Life" - The Beatles
"Third Stone From The Sun" - The Jimi Hendrix Experience
"I Can See For Miles" - The Who
"We Love You" - The Rolling Stones
"Dropout Boogie" - Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band
"Brown Shoes Don't Make It" - Frank Zappa & The Mothers Of Invention
"Devil's Grip" - The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown
"Rondo" - The Nice (assuming the Dec. 1967 release of Emerist Davjack is correct)
"Glimpses" - The Yardbirds
"You Keep Me Hanging On" - Vanilla Fudge

Other than that, the song choice is decent. Even "Broken Arrow", which I didn't like on first listen, has grown on me.
He looks at this world and wants it all... so he strikes, like Thunderball!

What a list of songs, wow.  I'm going to vote for Love's "Red Telephone", but really any 7 of these could have gotten my vote.   I like your selections 11-20 as well, they're every bit as good as the others.

As I have said on another thread I'm a Neil Young fan so I chose Broken Arrow.....but I love Nights in White Satin and Whiter Shade of Pale too.

Nights in White satin

I am a fan of Forever Changes but there are songs on there I prefer to Red Telephone. Alone Again Or would get my vote over most songs ever recorded.

Voted for Whiter Shade Of Pale.

This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end
Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I'll never look into your eyes...again

I love that track by Procol.......great surreal lyrics.
There are several tracks on that list that hold equal power for me.

67 was one hell of an amazing year for music!  So many amazing albums.  Perhaps one of the best years for music ever.

Are You Experienced and Axis: Bold as Love by Jimi Hendrix
Surrealistic Pillow - Jefferson Airplane
Sgt. Pepper's; Satanic Majesties Request; Small Faces; Vanilla Fudge; Beach Boys - Smiley Smile... Tangerine Dream - Kaleidoscope!

I vote for Country Joe and the Fish - Section 43!
