Offside, but seconded.

Edit: Not really offside. Click here for his only musical artefact.

Mr. Gary Shandling has passed......a gentleman and one of the funniest stand up comedians I've ever heard.

Can we please fast-forward to 2017?  I hate to risk the lives of any more beloved musicians in what fate has turned into a nightmare of a year.

Not to be too grim but maybe a Prog dead pool is in order. Maybe a poll. I'll have to think about that one.
Thank you for supporting independently produced music

Had tickets for two of the three nights of Willie and Merle in south Texas.....RIP Merle - passed on his birthday....caught that same bus that brought him here almost 80 years ago.  Loved those late 60s albums.....and his voice and energy were both on an upswing when I saw him at a honky-tonk in San Antonio a few years back.  Sing him back home, lord.....hope St. Peter is waiting with a double shot and his Telecaster.  Heaven is gaining a real honky-tonk hero.
I like to feel the suspense when you're certain you know I am there.....

RIP Merle.  It was said he got his inspiration or start by seeing Johnny Cash perform while he was in prison.

that he did Thumbs Up  Ahh the good old days when the artists walked the line, not merely throwing a goddamned hat,  moving to Nashville and being called 'country'. Same problem with Nascar.  They should exclude any driver that

a) ever lived north of the M-D line
b) finished H.S
c) still has all his teeth.

"His sense of humor was wonderful. As an ex member of the US Air Force he told us stories of seeing a crashed UFO first hand by accidentally walking through an unauthorized hanger"

hah... I can top that. I once stood guard over the preserved remnants of the flyer of said aircraft and no unauthroized vistior would have lived walking through my area. I had orders to shoot first, kill, then check why they were there... and was unfortunately all too conditioned to kill with compunction.

RIP man...

I haven't checked out his collaboration with Faust yet, but now I'll make sure I do soon.

Great memories of marathon late night sessions with fellow geeks, rotating Blakes, Dr. Who, Danger Man, Trek, Prisoner, Python, Butterflies, many more....lots of laughs and smoke in the air.  Might have to revisit Blakes again someday.
