A great shame. Not really my thing, but he was responsible for a monster of rock, and his legacy will live for a long time to come.

I believe that 'Thing' was played by Ted Cassidy (Lurch) on the TV show.  Ted Cassidy died in 1979.

She started as pop singer in the 60s, but soon she moved to theater becoming an important Brechtian interpreter, playing Bertolt Brecht all around Europe. In the 80s she returned for a while to music thanks to Franco Battiato.

Here she sings "Alexanderplatz".

Milva passed away today at age 82.

Don’t know if it was mentioned in here or not but Space Music pioneer Constance Demby passed in March. Had her stuff in the early 90s. RIP

Check out one of her musical designs, the Space Bass on YouTube!

For those that don't know, FRANCO BATTIATO was an extremely popular Italian singer/songwriter who also made albums mixing electronica and classical music. RIP.

Franco Battiato did some very innovative prog and even hardcore experimental music. I'm very grateful to Micky for once using his Sulle Corde Di Aries album as avatar, which made me check it out. It is a monster album indeed and second to hardly anything. He then went into pop music, and Italian radio today plays some of his pop stuff, relatively nicely sung and composed even though some of the arrangements are like scratching styrofoam to me (by which I don't mean hardcore experimental but rather sugary and flat in a way that occasionally even seems ironic for a musician of his caliber).

A very interesting guy indeed. RIP! Cry

My mom worked on the set of The Love Boat (and did some voiceover work for the deck announcements, still gets royalty checks for two cents in the mail), and she met Gavin MacLeod. He was a good guy apparently.

MacLeod was a working actor with an impressive range who played everything from evil Cold War spies to kindly uncles, and a great comedic performer who made being bald cool.

MacLeod was the foil for Ted Baxter on Mary Tyler Moore and did it well.  I guess Ed Asner and Betty White are the only surviving alumni
