Hm, I know first two parts of trilogy, the third one I haven't tried yet. I see it'd be a good decision to do it. Btw, I prefer first than the second one.

All three are really inspired works. I think Flying Teapot and Angel's Egg have some higher highs, but You is overall the most consistently fantastic album.

No vote. I head Flying Teapot years ago and I was not impressed. I should give the first two albums a listen. You is a masterpiece and the one I would probably choose.

I think Angels Egg is their best because it has so many brilliant musical ideas that repeat themes but always change before they get stale.  Almost every song is catchy (Gong style), technically amazing, and lyrically intriguing, while still flowing together.  You is phenomenal, but it drags on a bit towards the end IMO.  And Flying Teapot is excellent but less developed than the other two.

Angel's Egg was the first one I heard. Then I heard You and I thought it was better. Then I heard Flying Teapot and I thought it wasn't quite as good as either of the other two. Now that it's years later I've settled on Angel's Egg.

Eat That Phonebook.

For me it's a toss up between "You" and "Angel's Egg". Both are quite perfect.
I am currently digging:

Hawkwind, Rare Bird, Gong, Tangerine Dream, Khan, Iron Butterfly, and all things canterbury and hard-psych. I also love jazz!

Please drop me a message with album suggestions.

I'm kind of going to cheat here and vote for `Flying Teapot'. I always overlooked it because the other two were so good, and both were albums I got very early on in my prog collecting. I love them to bits, and when I finally got around to getting the first one, I was quite underwhelmed. But now as I've kind of overdosed on the later two over the years, `F.T' has been a nice surprise, I love it's kind of rough, murky and hypnotic hazy atmosphere. Now I listen to it more than the later two!

Have to say, the fifth album in the series `Zero To Infinity' is also superb!

Hypnotic and hazy atmospheres is what I go for these days. I have to confess I have not explored Gong very well, so the flying teapot is on my list now. I've only listened to 'you' so I got some work to do....well it's. It work really. :)
Gimmie my headphones now!!! 🎧🤣
