I'm leaning towards 1974, but my robot says 1973, and he's got every song from that year uploaded into his memory bank, with an exhaustive set of pre-set music quality criteria, and he gave 1973 a quality score of 456.974 and 1974 only got 431.552 so I don't know how to vote really.

Both excellent. Voted 1974 for Crime of the century and Mirage.

1974 saw Köhntarkösz, but 1973 saw Selling England by the Pound, The Mountain Queen and Dark Side of the Moon. Some time ago I made a list to check out my favourite years from 1970 to 1975. I suspected '72 to be the winner, but '71 and '73 ended up higher, '75 made it to the top and '74 ended at the bottom of this list.

Dude, 74 is my favorite prog year ever! Red, The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, and The Silent Corner and the Empty Stage are in my top 10, with Red as my number one. Plus I love Relayer too. This was the easiest decision ever.

I am currently digging: Hawkwind, Rare Bird, Gong, Tangerine Dream, Khan, Iron Butterfly, and all things canterbury and hard-psych. I also love jazz! Please drop me a message with album suggestions.

All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

This is impossible...how dare you mess with my head like this on a Friday
'73 - Brain Salad Surgery, Passion Play, Here Come the Warm Jets, Photos of Ghosts, Angels Egg, Birds of Fire, Les Cimitiere des Arlequins, Selling England, Stillusion...not to mention Tales... '74 - Relayer, Mirage, The Lamb, Phaedra, Starless & Bible Black, Mars Hotel, L'escapade, Double Dimple, Silent Corner & the Empty Stage, Spyglass Guest, Inside, Queen II, Zappa Helsinki YCDTOSA Vol II...
I went with '74 'cause it has my favorite King Crimson, Yes, Grateful Dead, Camel, Triumvirat, Eloy, Tangerine Dream, Queen, Zappa & Peter Hammill albums.
