Hi,
All this info is available in my previous posts in this thread: - photo of the band is on soundcloud: http://soundcloud.com/kogaion-rock-band - there is only one album available, all release info including cover is on discogs and RYM: http://www.discogs.com/Kogaion-Fragmente-Din-Poemul-Rock-Castelul/release/3688396 http://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/kogaion/kogaion/ - member list is in my first post of this thread: Marius Băraș - keyboards, vocals Vasile Călin Filip - guitars, blockflotte Mihail Comisaru - bass Metin Osman - drums, percussions I have asked someone in the band for a short biography of the band in English. He will check if something is available, in the mean time the info in my first post of this thread is all that's available:
Kogaion was a Romanian Symphonic Rock band founded in1993. They were active on the underground scene and released a self titled album in 1999. The album represents a selection from their much longer stage show called “The Castle” which unfortunately was never recorded entirely because no producer was interested in this kind of music. Kogaion’s album was self produced by the band. Edited by amatala - September 29 2016 at 12:01 |

You're very welcome Please ask him for - A photo of the band - A photo of each album - Song list - Release information - Member list We don't like to make a band wait, that's why we accepted them as soon as we received the request even when we don't believe they play Symphonic Prog. Thank you

We received the band two days ago, and even though we agree they are not Symphonic, we don't want to play ping pong with them. Accepted in Symphonic. If somebody got the info,. please write the bio. Iván

Still being evaluated on eclectic, it seems I'm the only one left voting If I remember correctly it didn't have enough samples for evaluating properly. Currently it has one Move and one Yes.

Someone with access to the collab zone needs to work back through the Eclectic team thread to find out what happened with this band.

This can be used as the official web site - it's Marius Baras' web site, but it includes info on Kogaion also:

A few years ago I received several Romanian albums from my good friend Zsolt Enyedi, among which I found Sfinx (Already reviewed Zalmoxe) and also an album by Kogaian.
The identity of sounds is amazing, they have Symphonic roots but the most obvious element is the Eastern Europe Folk music. I believe that wherever Sfinx is, Kogaian most follow them. Great band Iván

Nice one. Symphonic at times but also spacey and having a strong (Romanian?) folk influence, while the keyboards have that characteristic digital / Neo sound. Sfinx was moved from Prog Folk to Eclectic several years ago; I think the same reasons for Sfinx not moving to Symph would apply to Kogaion i.e. the psych and indigenous folk influences. Kogaion was also given the briefest of mentions in the Eclectic Team thread some five years ago - I think members leaving the site for whatever reason may have had something to do with the band not being discussed further at that time. Will ask the current Eclectic team to check it out.
