In this order: Matte Kundesai is that gentle side of King Crimson which is too often ignored. Beautiful song with a great melody. The Real Me by the Who has some great bass playing courtesy of the late Ox. I also like The Sun in My Eyes by the Tangent.
The world of sound is certainly capable of infinite variety and, were our sense developed, of infinite extensions. -- George Santayana, "The Sense of Beauty"

Matte Kudesai over Hotel Hobbies. One of the best KC ballads. Lovely vocals from Belew.
A GREAT YEAR FOR PROG!!!

Not surprised by the GG love, but i wasn't thinking this KC song would do so well? Especially over songs like Separation and Hotel Hobbies.

I never was a fan of Matte Kudasai. That reminds me, I heard a fellow playing that song on the street corner earlier this summer.

Wax Simulacra for me.

Close call between GG and KC but as much as I love King Crimson, I think that Matte Kudasai is the weakest song of Discipline(Which is still a 5 stars album IMO)

Elephant9 - Fugl Fønix for me. Incredible way of starting an album! The drums from Lofthus are insane - buffalo-like or something to that effect.

I would have voted for Hotel Hobbies, but I never consider it as a stand alone song.  More like part 1 of what I like to call "The Hotel Hobbies Suite" which includes Warm Wet Circles and That Time of the Night.  They'll always be one 14 minute song for me.

It's a very strong song indeed! A classic rock staple for sure.

I kind of agree with the Suite concept, when i first listened to Clutching Straws i noticed after That Time Of Night i really enjoyed the music - as if it was one song. I can listen to Hotel alone though. I think it stands alone better than Warm Wet Circles and That Time Of Night.

My favorite from the album at the moment is Slainte Mhath. Thumbs Up
