Yeah I have completely fallen for that Frankie Dymon Jr album. This is love baby! Wow I never thought I'd ever feel that way about an album again...honestly, It's so in tune with what I used to listen to some 15 years ago - but it does something new with the psychedelic soul and funk that I love, and puts it into a Krautrock vortex and out on the other end comes this fantastic freaky ride. I'm not sure I could ever pick out a fave Sabbath album myself. It changes every year or so. Particular faves though seem to be Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, the debut and Vol 4....and hey don't worry about posting that enigmatic cover here on the forums. I don't |

^Right on Sagi!
I loved your review of that Puppenhaus album btw. Very nice work indeed my friend Heh, it was actually yours truly who suggested them for inclusion, and I'm glad you were the first person to write about them, so thanks for that I'm still getting around to reviewing both of the albums you just posted come to think of it. The other one is imho a genuine masterpiece of psych jazz rock

Seriously??? you've made my day man! I love this album and love this band! McPhee's guitar sound like nothing else really, heavily drowns in guitar effects Damn, I love that freaking ending of "Fulfilment". Perfect!! Everyone seems to focus on Split or Hogwash, which are definitely great but for me Black Diamond released in the same year as Crosscut Saw is the best. So how do you like it? |

Groundhogs are somewhat new to me and I only know this album to be perfectly honest with you. I bought it on a whim, after reading one of Moshkito's posts a long time ago. Some albums that were special to him if I remember right, and I got this alongside some Darryl Way's Wolf records (which are amazing as well! You should definitely look into Night Music). I really like this one though. I didn't think there would be so much elbow room for the guitar solos, but there sure is - even amongst all the keys and singing.

Yeah! Do you know it was suggested by me (and added via Philippe)? I found it on... some blog (and still don't have the original album ).
Oh, gosh! I completely forgot about the nudity on it, sorry! BTW, I only know the classic Sabbath line-up albums from the 70s. I don't know anything post-Ozzy (is it still Black Sabbath?). Edited by Tuzvihar - October 19 2013 at 04:41 |
