The very first time I heard Keith Emerson's Moog solo at the end of Lucky Man, I became hooked on synthesizers and especially lead synthesizer solos.  For this thread, list your top 10 favourite lead synthesizer solos and include the synthesizer that was used if you can.

1) Lucky Man - ELP - Emerson - Moog Modular
2) In the Cage - Genesis - Banks - ARP Pro Soloist
3) The Colony of Slippermen - Genesis - Banks - ARP Pro Soloist
4) Cinema Show - Genesis - Banks - ???
5) Just for the Record - Marillion - Mark Kelley - ???
6) Magic Man - Heart - Howard Leese - Minimoog?
7) Tom Sawyer - Rush - Geddy - Oberheim (not sure what model)
8) And You And I - Yes - Wakeman - Minimoog
9) The Revealing Science of God (rock section ripping synth solo just before "They move fast, they tell me" - Yes - Wakeman - ???
10) Riding the Scree - Genesis - Banks - ARP Pro Soloist

My absolute favorite:

ELP - Hoedown (live version from WBMFTTSTNE). Just ridiculous bombast but I love it.

making a list is going to be struggle. I would no doubt include some Rick Wakeman probably from the King Arthur album but there are so many great synth solos on that album. How to pick one?!

Of course some Tony Banks probably from the DVD When In Rome and In The Cage/ Cinema Show/Dukes Travelsmedley.

Its hard to get past the genius of those three though!

Incredible......this list would change every day for me.....
I could say Wakeman with Topographic & King Arthur (and that's already a few quality solos on the mini-moog...)
Pete Bardens - Lunar Sea
Caravan - The Dog, The Dog He's At It Again (on a Davoli synth)
Francis Monkman - Young Mother (VCS3 solo from 'Second Album')
Rick Wright - 'Any Colour You Like' (VCS3 I assume...? perhaps mini moog)and his amazing mini-moog during part VI of 'Shine On.....'
Detlef Schmidchten - Master Of Sensation (from 'Silent Cries & Mighty Echoes') - mini-moog solo
Tony Banks - Cinema Show and Riding The Scree (ARP Pro-Soloist)
Always loved Colin Towns' ARP 2600 solo on 'Angel Manchenio' (from 'Clear Air Turbulence').......
Just to name a few..............

Adding several more.......
most solos by Patrick Gauthier, usually on a mini-moog, are amazing
Dave Stewart mini-moog solo on 'The Fire Inside' (Steve Hillage's 'Open') and Prophet solo on 'Toad Of Toad Hall' (D.S. al Coda)
Laszlo Benko of 'Omega'- 'Nem Tudom a Neved' (title track of the album of the same name - mini-moog)
Ed Wynne (live version of 'Sunscape')
Roger Powell's mini-moog - 'The Seven Rays' - (Utopia's 'Another Live')
Don Preston - mini-moog solo on Zappa's 'Waka/Jawaka')
..............only the tip of the iceberg........
