"I'd lose that Casio in the background." "The organ's ruining it. Ah! You lost me. Goodbye, everybody!" "This is really sucking!" "I'd have the bus pull away before the organ player got in." "Go back to Spandau Ballet!" "They just missed being good."

LOL--his opinions are all over the place and aimed mostly at humor---he likes Yes and they have been on his show but the early Bruford era---he loves "metal" but his favorite station on Sirius is Coffee House---mellow versions of songs.
Howard Stern...one of the most opinionated f**ks around, but he is a very funny man. His Dream Theater synopsis is very typical for a how most people don't put serious time, thought of even concentration for that matter into the music they are listening to, especially sophisticated PROG no less!
I found this funny anyway and I know that was mainly the point. Howard gets paid millions of dollars to cast out humorous and vulgar opinions on any noun with in Planet Earth.
So how about that organist, Howard? The Ironic thing is that Kevin Moore has more talent in his middle finger than in Howard's entire lanky, Jerry curl-permed out body. Gotta love it.

Howard is Howard and I don't know the names of his lackeys (do they even deserve names?) so I am not surprised he didn't have the wherewithal or yarbles to give the band half a chance. He's such a w**ker. Sometimes I find him amusing but never really funny. Mostly though, I find him idiotic.
The world of sound is certainly capable of infinite variety and, were our sense developed, of infinite extensions. -- George Santayana, "The Sense of Beauty"

Do you think he gave Dream Theater a fair audition? Mind you, this is almost 20 years ago, so maybe Howi's attitudes and opinions have changed towards the Prog rock music genre. Being fair or to be a critic of music one must put forth some conservative effort to immerse themselves in the music they are listening to. This can be done by way of headphones or simply finding a quiet place to listen to the music on your own. I wonder if mr. Perm put on some cans and listen to say, space Dye Vest that he would just refer to Kevin. Moore as the annoying organist? I don't think he wound, but then again maybe Howi would not make it to the last track on the album. In any case. I don't think what I said was pretentious at all. Condescending yes, but not pretentious.

i was mainly aiming at this part though; as if there is some special property you must have to appreciate "sophisticated PROG"
but then again, that may not be what you meant at all, in which case i apologize
