For obvious reasons, I have omitted these three from my 1972 poll.  But here they are in their own little poll, even though I expect this poll has been done many times by many people.  Sue me. Wink

Thick as a Brick for its compositional unity. Close to the Edge has this too I suppose... Supper's Ready not so much. Most of the sections seem to appear from nowhere which is great if you're into that. I'm not unfortunately...

I like both "Close to the Edge" and "Supper's Ready" more than "Thick as a Brick" but I can't vote for one over the other. They are two sides of the same Prog Coin, so to speak. Ergo, I shall abstain from voting.

Really don't mind if you sit this one out.
When he rides, my fears subside.
For darkness turns once more to light.
Through the skies, his white horse flies.
To find a land beyond the night.

"CTTE" = "TAAB", but voted "CTTE". The whole of "Supper" still does not click with me.

Close to the Edge, though I have come to like Supper's Ready a lot too (I really love the flow of that song). I really love Thick as a Brick too, obviously, but I feel it might just as well have been shorter. I actually like better the shorter version from "Bursting Out, Live".

Close to the Edge.
I am currently digging:

Hawkwind, Rare Bird, Gong, Tangerine Dream, Khan, Iron Butterfly, and all things canterbury and hard-psych. I also love jazz!

Please drop me a message with album suggestions.
