The Breeders `Last Splash' is still a knockout disc for me, Jim (except that track that's sung underwater ), sadly neither the first album or ones since ever captured that same feeling from me!

Have to give some love to Susanna Hoffs from the Bangles, what a little princess! She even wins me over when she and Matthew Sweet are slumming it in those `Under The Covers' cover albums they put out together!

Love that second pic, she's so tiny and adorable!

Off topic, but damn Sweet put on so much weight....poor guy

That was a good one Michael....and I heard she recently walked out on the Pixies....so maybe there is one more Breeders disc to come!

I think I'll be the first to give Belly the nod, as 'Star' is a great album. Much stranger than the hit "Feed The Tree" would make you think, there's no shortage of psychedelic influences going on. Love that main riff in "Angel", "Low Red Moon" is haunting and "Slow Dog" rocked. Man I need to listen to that again; it's been at least a decade since I've heard it.

'King' wasn't bad either, and had some catchy tunes, but lacked the killer trippy rawness of 'Star'. Still, kind of a shame King wasn't promoted well.

I only know the Bangles.  I don't have any albums, but I thought they were ok.
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Prog Soth did you like Throwing Muses too?   I remember liking Hunkpapa and Real Ramona quite a bit.

That's one group I really need to check out more of. The only thing I've heard much of (and have) by them is 'The Fat Skier' EP, which I still own on vinyl. It's actually really cool.

I'm tossing a vote to Belly too.  'King' didn't get the love it deserved, "Seal my Fate" and "Super-Connected" are possibly their two best songs (along with "Feed the Tree").  And although the music is more subdued, Tanya Donelly's songwriting for her solo stuff ranks up there with some of the better Throwing Muses tunes.

Brian....I really hated Bangles and GoGos back in the 80s but can enjoy them with ease now.  Funny how we change.

Oh, Jim, you know I'm a massive Go-Go's fan these days! `Beauty and the Beat' is one of my favourite pop albums!

Hey, that reminds me, you may enjoy this Jim! These girls (and two guys) were Aussie, Jim, one of my absolute favourite bands!

This one is just beautiful, breaks my heart

Love the noise of this one! Dig the debauchered lyrics too, `You can smoke my hair, you can drink my piss!' lol! Naughty girls!

Let us know if you like them, Jim!

Michael,
That band is wonderful!  I'm going to listen to more of that.

Here's another rarity for Tonya fans....when she was in the Breeders!
