Ok as a matter of fact this is another tough one, at least for me it is,
I love all of these very much. I think the real battle here is between
Ange and Jean Luc Ponty since they are the most well known here, but the
rest are just as good, I'll have to listen of course to finally decide
Enjoy. Tough one here, Sagi! Enigmatic Ocean is jazz-rock classic and Shylock has many reasons to be considered but Ange's classic album is a top 5 all-time for me! Songs like Godevain le Vilain, and Si J'etais le Messie are simply beyond words as well as the dense, dark atmosphere displayed. Add the wonderful artwork and it becomes an easier choice.

An excellent choice where we see all the diversity of the French scene For me it's between Ange and Hedayat (a cult album here). The last Japanese reissue of " Beyond the frenzy " made me rediscover this record and I love it even more.
I go with Ange.

Yep tough one, I know it feels good voting for an obscure gem but sometimes you just can't beat the classics ha? And you mentioned Si J'etais Le Messie which is maybe my favourite French song, Descamps performance on that one is beyond incredible! Thanks brother.

Indeed we can see quite a lot of diversity here which is mainly the reason why I'm doing these polls. Another vote for a classic masterpiece from the most important duck since Donald and Daffy!

Au Dela Du Delire got me into Ange and I remember a lot of good moments with this one. My vote goes there.

I could have voted for Ponty, Ange or Shylock, went with Shylock because Ponty and Ange are bound to get more votes as they are better known. I love all three and each one of them is my favorite when I'm listening to it; hope you understand what I mean.

I went with Shylock although I could have eaily picked Jean-Luc Ponty who i'm listening to right now(Mystical Adventures) or Ange or Dashiell Hedayat.

I definitely understand and feel exactly the same, I guess it's because they are all so different so each and every one is so special in its own right. |

John I thought eventually you would go for Ponty! Surprising results actually, I thought he would do much better, although this bump might help. Although I regard Au Dela Du Delire to be kind of a masterpiece so haunting, captivating and beautiful, I feel like going with Shylock because it just what I prefer to listen to today, Ange is like an old friend which I have the deepest respect to. As for now Ange and Shylock move to the next round which isn't far away |

If the rest of Obsolete was as amazing as Cielo Drive, 17 Dashiell might have gotten my vote, but Au Delà du Délire is perfect throughout with an atmosphere you won't find anywhere else. I find it strange how much I love it as theatrical and melodramatic progrock isn't usually my bag. It almost has the feel of a rock-musical. A very darksounding one, but still. Ange Dashiell Hedayat ShylockJean Luc Ponty Atlantide Shylock is cool as well, but lack a little uniqueness and personality to become a favorite of mine. |
