Omg for me, DT wipe the floor with Haken. No contest.
DT have true depth and their latest album totally proves that. |

Struggling to find much Awesomeness in Haken's latest offering, whereas DT last album is pure magic to me!

Totally agree, Haken depends 100% on the work that DT have done during its career; sure Haken is awesome now, but without DT they may have not even existed!

seems like most people are only judging by the recent effords of the bands:
http://www.prog-sphere.com/prog-sphere-hall-of-fame/prig-sphere-hall-fame-quarter-finals/4/ today, haken surely is more awesome but hey, DT defined a whole genre and should win this if we are honest it think Edited by Mind_Drive - June 20 2014 at 16:08 |

When he rides, my fears subside.
For darkness turns once more to light. Through the skies, his white horse flies. To find a land beyond the night. |

Haken is awesome, The Mountain is amazing...but just one of those DT albums is enough to surpass Haken.

I value The Mountain just abover Scenes from a Memory and Images and Words, but DT should win this one.

I don't think I ever voted for DT in a poll but I am now. Although I think Haken is the better band today (and I don't really like them either) DT's earlier work is by far better, I mean Haken is not even close.

For me, Images and Words alone is enough to win this one.

I am currently digging:
Hawkwind, Rare Bird, Gong, Tangerine Dream, Khan, Iron Butterfly, and all things canterbury and hard-psych. I also love jazz! Please drop me a message with album suggestions. |

well if you compared the recent work it might be a different result, but
as it is I'd have to say Haken have hardly surpassed their most obvious
influence.

DT though I rarely listen to them anymore. I just find they've wasted their considerable talent putting out the same tired riffing when they could do so much more.

A GREAT YEAR FOR PROG!!!
