http://www.yamaha.com/publications/allaccess/spring2K2/26and erson.htm Are you hopeful about the music of the future? Absolutely. I relate to the current culture of space music, the people who make electronic music related to early Stockhausen and Vangelis, but adding hiphop beats. That music appeals to me because it's truly music of the present day — it literally couldn't have been made 50 years ago. I also find that the rap world has become an exciting area for musical juxtaposition. Obviously, there's a lot of crass, commercial stuff, but some of it, like Eminem, is really amazing. Actually, I've written a rap opera that will come out one day, believe it or not. |

A duet with "Fiddy Cent" would be even better...even better than Elton
John and Eminem. |

Well, hopefully his rap opera's better than R. Kelly's.
Seriously, I mean its okay if he likes rap, but a Jon Anderson rap opera? That would be a what the f*ck moment right there. |

Well, I don't really find this odd. I mean, Mike Portnoy is a huge fan or rap and hip hop music. So why would Jon Anderson be any different. I personally don't like hip hop, it is too constricting right now in its current state. Now, if someone created a more progressive form of rap, say a 30 minute 'A Change of Seasons' type thing with various musical styles and sounds, that might turn out good. Or a mix of rap, opera vocals and death metal grunts....

The good cop and the bad cop left for the day. I'm a different kind of cop.

Ween has some hip-hop elements in their music, along with every other
genre known to man, and its pretty cool sometimes. They're the
closest thing to "progressive rap" I can think of, at least some of
their songs are .

Nothing in existence is better than R. Kelly's rap opera. Nothing at all. Ever. |

One can't spell CRAP without RAP! |

Unfortunately, John came fifth and was stuck with a toaster. |
