Full albums remixed by Steven Wilson released in 2013 and 2014. Brave and big enterprises. The question is: are they worth new value or they're simply sacrilege. Both reissues have bunch of extras and curiosities, but let's now focus on the album remixes.

Sure, you can give your opinion too.

From discogs:

CTTE sounds better. It sounded like it was in a dense swamp for years. Worth the bucks? That's up to you.

I found the sound quality to be really good on "Fragile" and off the top of my head I can't remember there being any issues with CTTE or The Yes Album, in fact Orford I thought did an incredible job back in the day. I'm not planning on getting any of these but I could be persuaded by feedback.

Another copy of Close to the Edge, that's what I need.

I think I said it before but what I would prefer is remixes of Relayer and GFTO. CTTE and Fragile have always sounded fine to me.

I agree, especially Relayer.

well it looks like you both are in luck as the latter will get one in October apparently as i found out somewhere i can't remember awhile ago.

and as for now, i would like a choice of  "Never heard it (yet)" as i would choose that, besides, i may or may not get a copy of either since i already got one with the Atlantic years box set i got half a year ago.

Probably, you're talking about remasters, not remixes. There is no remix for Relayer, and the remix for Going For The One (by Steven Wilson again) will be released this October.

Neutral: Interesting.
When he rides, my fears subside.
For darkness turns once more to light.
Through the skies, his white horse flies.
To find a land beyond the night.

It's a shame that Wilson isn't doing Relayer. Next to Close To The Edge, this is my favorite Yes album. I mean seriously Wilson, WTF?

I like all of the Wilson remixes of classic prog that have.  Steven is near my age and has a reverence for the music.  I've known these bands and album for years and I don't think he has done injustice to the remixes.

But in the end you aren't getting the definitive experience with all that needle noise and the scratches, are you? Tongue

PS, I don't have the remasters of either yet.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Relayer would be very cool...the Friday Music half-speed remaster of CTTE sounds very good, better than the original issue I have for sure..

I have never heard "needle noise and scratches" on any of my Yes albums, is this a song only on CD versions?
