I believe that this has been asked before but ok...
Which musician you wish you would have been, and why?

Personally I would have loved to be a great keyboardist but when I think about my idols Emerson, Wakeman, Banks etc I think they have also been through not-so-nice periods.
So perhaps my choice would be Alex Lifeson, a very long career and always maintaining integrity, quality, and they way he plays is really fun to play. It must have been hard when Neil Peart had his tragedies but ok, as himself Lifeson has had an impeccable career.

It would be between Gavin Harrison and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez. Both are amazing instrumentalists (Omar able to play many), are involved in many quality projects, unique play styles, and are both relatively young.

I wish I was Bryan Ferry.  That dude was smooth.  I love singing in a wobbly voice too.

Probably Bill Bruford. He's been in so many great bands and he's an excellent drummer.

David Gilmour. The amount of emotion he infused into his guitar playing tht it always seemed to me tht he's speaking thru his instrument..of course every guitarist plays wid a certain depth of emotion nd so many guitarists speaks thru their guitar.. But Gilmour takes me home..
I wish i was him...

I wish I was as talented as Joni Mitchell, don't want her life though, being forced to leave my child up for adoption.
I've also always wished I could sing like Grace Slick but I wouldn't want her alcohol and drug addiction.

I have changed my mind: Mick Jagger. More women and more fun I think.

As much of a pain as fame and fortune could probably be, I still say that do to what would seem a true spiritual nature, I'd pick the lead singer from Yes, Mr. Jon Anderson.Cool
