Some month ago i hear a very good band, in neoprog category from the 2000, but i don't remember the name. The structure of the songs is totall AOR with catchy chorus but in the central parts they use massice use of synth and guitars solo, and the song are always about 7-8 minutes long

Jadis maybe? They've been around since the 90s. Arena maybe? Although they have more a mix of long and short songs. Anywhere from a couple of minutes to 20 minutes.

Jadis and Arena are too much famous and these are totally neoprog, the AOR structure isn't present at all. This band sounds like a modern approach of Asia but in a more prog vein.

Carptree. Galleon. It Bites. Salem Hill. Satellite. Cross. Knight Area. Gazpacho. Little Atlas. Sylvan. Galahad. Metaphor. Mindgames.
I scrolled through my albums labelled as Neo Prog released in the 2000's and these are the bands that I came up with. Not sure if any of them fit the bill. |

Sounds like a band I would like whoever they are.
I guess not though if Arena and Jadis are ruled out

I scrolled through my AOR albums and don't really see anybody that would fit the bill with the longer songs. Best bets that I have there would be Shy, Giant, FM, or Newman. |

There's a band called Pilgrym which put out an album in 2004 called Pilgrymage which sounds like a more neo leaning Asia. Blind Owl also had a neo/Asia thing going on but their album was from 87.

No guys nobody of the above bands blends AOR with neoprog, maybe the band is coming after the 2005, i remember an excellent production, that usually only the British neoprog bands have

You definitely have me intrigued. I hope that when you figure it out you post who it is here. It sounds like a band that I'd like to check out.

FWIW, I did a search of top Neo Prog albums from 2000 - 2010 from the United Kingdom, and this is what came up. http://www.progarchives.com/top-prog-albums.asp?ssubgenres=18&salbumtypes=1&syears=2010&syears=2009&syears=2008&syears=2007&syears=2006&syears=2005&syears=2004&syears=2003&syears=2002&syears=2001&syears=2000&scountries=206&sminratings=0&smaxratings=0&sminavgratings=0&smaxresults=100&x=43&y=5#list
It was less than 25 albums, and none of them would fit the bill. |

No Darwin Radio. I want "Aor with Neoprog". I guess the band isn't British after i saw all the new release in the last years.

No these 2 aren't in neoprog category. The sound is a bit prog, but it's slow. The tracks i remember had a mid tempo, the singers were 3 or 4 like Yes in the central chorus, and the central parts had always a digital moog solo crossed with guitar interlude, a sort of Marillion AOR Edited by Aragon - August 02 2014 at 12:41 |
