Pizza? Sort of an in-joke with Holy Moly, and besides this is where I combine the two polls i've been doing for soooo long. Between the two polls we've had 450 albums to start with now we're down to 14 !  Seven from each series going head to head to see who is your favouite out of the sub-genres like Canterbury, Rio/Avant, Jazz/Fusion, RPI, Zeuhl and Krautrock, the latter which sadly is the first sub-genre to bite the dust.
5 Canterbury, 3 Jazz/Fusion, 3 RPI, 2 Zeuhl and 1 Avant are left.
I've paired these albums up 1 to 14, 2 to 13, 3 to 12 etc by the weighted ratings here at PA. So 7 polls for round 5.
First vote for PFMBig smile

I went with Gong. Love both albums, but Angel's Egg has been on my Ipod for something like a year now, and it continues to amaze me just how much I've overlooked it for the subsequent You.
As much as I adore Flying Teapot and Pip Pyle's drumming, it's when Pierre Moerlen got behind the stool that things really took off. One of THE most capable fusion drummers of the 70s imho.

Voted for pizza -- I mean GonG.

It's not often that I vote for Gong in these polls, come to think of it.  I used to love the heck out of them but since then, other bands have taken the lead in my preferences.  So it's with some pleasure and relief that I offer GonG my vote.

This one is tough - love both albums. Ultimately, I find PFM a bit more satisfying - like a cheesy deluxe Smile

Such a majestic album, and in spite of it being the highest rated album that is left i'd probably place it in the middle of the albums that are left. Still it has to be one of the favourites to win this whole thing.

One of the lessons i've learned frm these polls is that the early psychedelic period of Gong is very popular and so i've tried to get into their albums more as a result. Moerlen is incredible no doubt.

I would think for many it's an easy choice only because they are so different from each other. The melodic Symphonic Italian album or the psychedelic and bizarre record from the pot-heads. See posts from Svetonio, Hercules and Mirror Image.Big smile

PFM because the album stole my heart. Angel's Egg just stole my virginity.
