Hatfield because I love the whole Canterbury genre....but Birds is one of my all time favorite fusion albums.

Pretty much this. Rotters Club is an essential Canterbury record, and my personal favorite from the band. Their debut didn't grab me as much.

Interesting, and it looks like this could end in a tie as it's back and forth continually. |

Tough choice for me too Pierre and I know them about equally but both are incredible in their own ways. |

Two studio albums wasn't enough for sure, although the Hatwise and Hattitude albums at least give us some live music and more. Maybe National Health gives us a hint of what they would have been like. |

Mahavishnu without a doubt. I dig Hatfield but nothing of theirs can compare to the works of Mahavishnu to me.
but I am a McLaughlin disciple, and so am biased.

Hum. I don't know yet. I'm not a big Mahavishnu's fan, but this album is fantastic. I bought Rotter recently and I don't know it very well. But i'm sure I'm gonna love it. as much as the first album. Tough choice, Johnny.

Me too. If it had been The Inner Mountain Flame rather than Birds of Fire, I'd have voted for MahavOrch.
