Hatfield because I love the whole Canterbury genre....but Birds is one of my all time favorite fusion albums.
One does nothing yet nothing is left undone.

Pretty much this. 

Rotters Club is an essential Canterbury record, and my personal favorite from the band. Their debut didn't grab me as much.

On another note: I've always wondered what Hatfield would have sounded like had they stuck together for a third and fourth album.

Two studio albums wasn't enough for sure, although the Hatwise and Hattitude albums at least give us some live music and more. Maybe National Health gives us a hint of what they would have been like.

Mahavishnu without a doubt. I dig Hatfield but nothing of theirs can compare to the works of Mahavishnu to me.
