Topic: Threshold clone Posted: September 07 2014 at 03:24 |
could u suggest me some Thresold clone of the Wounded Land era? thx. I found it good for neoprog fan, although it's prog metal. In many solos it remind me Rothery style, and it's very good!!!
The keybodards are a bit dated....even Marillion in the '80 sound much more fresched by the sound of T. I like retro smooth prog metal not influencies by DT!!! It should stay in prog metal category, but with a spin on neoprog.

Have you listened to Ice Age? They have 2 albums, and both are great. The Great Divide is my favourite of them. It resembles Threshold's that era to some extent, but more technical and sophisticated. (But I wouldn't say that they are obviously influenced by DT) I was instantly impressed when i heard them, but the vocals took some time for me to warm, as they aren't "smooth". (The vocal melodies are superb though)
