Let me introduce you my band “Auxford”. We are the prog rock band from
Saint-Petersburg, Russia. The group was founded in Saint-Petersburg,
Russia, in 2007 by Vladislav Semyonov and Alexander Golenskiy. But at that
moment it was just a garage band. The real activity began in 2013, when Dmitry (drums), and then Yuriy (bass)
joined Alexander and Vladislav . First concert as a prog-rock band was
given in February 2014. On July 18th we released our debute Album called “Reflection”.
It’s a somekind mixture of classic prog-rock and
blues. I would say we take something from Pink Floyd, Supertramp, Alan Parsons
Project, and even King Crimson and Black Sabbath. But we don’t play their
music, we don’t make music like theirs’, we just play what we like and how we
like. Our music is our feeling.
We were making this album last three years. We
are not professional musicians, but music is a part of our life. «Reflection» - is music for thinking, fantasy,
mostly instrumental, with lyrics in Russian and English languages. Our debute album can be listened and downloaded here: http://auxford.bandcamp.com or here: http://www.soundcloud.com/auxford We are four: Vlad Semenov (me) – keys and vocals, Alexander Golenskiy- guitar, Yuriy Venchagov- bass, back-vocals, Dmitriy Stepanenko – drums. ------ Our website: www.auxford.ru Our facebook page: www.facebook.com/auxfordband Our VK page (on Russian): www.vk.com/auxford
England gave the world a lot of rock bands that
influenced our music: Pink Floyd, Supertramp, Alan Parsons Project, and even
King Crimson and Black Sabbath. That’s why we wanted to bear the english name. At the same time homonym city Oxford attracts
the best minds in the world because of it’s University. Therefore, an intelligent mix of art-rock and
blues should be only from Auxford! Regards, Vlad Semenov |

Excellent suggestion, very well put together, fine album indeed, Crossover sounds just the right place for you too. It's not actually my call...I just hang around this forum and enjoy the music that is presented here, but I can't personally see any reason at all why you should not be approved by the team.

No worries at all Vlad. I hope someone from the Crossover team picks the suggestion up soon and takes it forward for evaluation.

I listened to Auxford last night and I like their music specially instrumental parts. IMO they deserve to be in PA.

No sign of the Crossover team picking this up as yet, though. I added the band to progfreak anyway, to save them one little job at least: http://progfreak.com/Auxford-159779.html.

I already included the www.auxford.ru link on progfreak - there is nothing I can do to prevent it being redirected to bandcamp I'm afraid. The only other URL field on progfreak is for a myspace page - not particularly relevant these days since the much inferior 'new' myspace came into existence, and musicians began to use it less and less to showcase their output - but until the progfreak site is updated to reflect the diminishing popularity of myspace (and the growing popularity of facebook) with bands and musicians, there is nothing I can do here. Progarchives members can't amend existing entries on progfreak anyway - only the site owner Michael Riess can do this. If you want to contact him about this issue, you can do so from this page: http://progfreak.com/About-Contact-50706.html
