Just for fun, who do you like better, Peter Gabriel solo or with Genesis?

To close for me to call. Absolutely love Nursery Crime, Foxtrot and Selling England by the Pound. If pressed, Supper's Ready is probably my all-time favorite prog song. But then again, I love Melt and Security. My wife at the time, surprised me with tickets to see Gabriel at Madison Square Garden on the So - another excellent solo effort - tour. Fantastic show - one of my all-time favorite shows. At the time, seeing Biko done live was a nearly religious experience. I also saw him on the Us tour. Good show, but didn't have the same impact as that first show.

Unlike most i'm not a big fan of his solo work, yes there are certain songs I like but a whole album? Not even close. So Genesis is an easy pick.

Spelling mistake aside (Gabrial) I'm going with SOLO. Only because like many singers, his voice has matured. Now don't get me wrong, it's close, very close. I had to think about the Lamb for this one, but then I think of the Security album and that clinches it for me. I saw him twice during that tour. His screaming (singing) "The Rhythm has Myyyyyyyyyyy Sooooooouuuuulllllllll" Gives me chills just thinking about it.

Love his first album and So and also songs from all the rest --but voted with Genesis.

I love the work he did with Genesis, but I can't vote since I haven't heard much of his solo career - I only have So and listened to a coupe of stray songs like "I Don't Remember". Still, the few of his solo stuff I have heard I really like.

I am voting for the man as he stands alone - solo.

Solo. Gabriel's voice got better over time. He learn how to use it better, without resorting to bad theatrics IMO.

I see that I "cannot vote in this poll", but nevertheless I want to confess that Genesis era was for me far superior over solo time when it comes to reviewing Gabriel's career

I feel more or less the same, though his first solo album and So are quite good.

I'd like Peter Gabriel if he was singing rugby songs when pi**ed out of his head.
He's a genius and I can't vote because I love his music in Genesis and on his own equally.

No vote for this one. Both incarnations are equally awesome.

With Genesis, of course! It's just been this weird ride as a solo artist for the man.
