For atmosphere, Edgar Froese without a doubt, but Rick's the better keyboardist.

I think you need to listen to more Tangerine Dream, especially Force Majeure and his three best solo albums Ages, Stuntman, and Pinnacles.

Specially STUNTMAN. He is a great keyboardist (IMO)

Definitely Edgar Froese. Rick was grand too, though

Froese was groundbreaking, experimental and genre-defining, so he gets my vote, but Wright had a warmth, a humanity and such restraint in his dignified playing.

Two incredible musicians that couldn't be more different from eachother!

Depends on what you mean by "more atmospheric". One who focused more on atmospheres or one who had greater capacity to drive me into ecstasy? Quantity vs. quality. No vote.

I like Wright's atmospheres better.

Not comparable but Froese has a debt with Saucerful of Secrets

In terms of the way Steve has framed the question I go for Rick over Edgar. I am a massive TD fan but I love the late seventies early eighties period which was a lot less spacey. Wish You Were Here on the other hand is one of my very favourite prog albums and Wrights keyboards have a warmth as previously mentioned that is hard to match.

In this poll I vote to Edgar Froese but I love rick wright. I can't ignore Rick's abilities and I can't forget him. Rick Wright played in various styles. From "Saucerful of Secrets" to "Wish you were Here" or "The Dark Side of the Moon".Froese have a great career too. Zeit , Ricochet , Stratosfear , Cyclone , Tiger and .... Honestly this is a difficult choice but In My Opinion Froese is better.

I was going to say the same thing. Alpha Centauri, Atem and Zeit all took their organ cue from Saucerful of Secrets in one way or another.
