Pink Fairies are an English rock band initially active in the London (Ladbroke Grove) underground and psychedelic scene of the early 1970s. They promoted free music, drug taking and anarchy and often performed impromptu gigs and other agitprop stunts, such as playing for free outside the gates at the Bath and Isle of Wight pop festivals in 1970, as well as appearing at Phun City, the first Glastonbury and many other free festivals including Windsor and Trentishoe.

I have a few albums from the Fairies, and Never Never Land is a classic. Reminiscent of early HAWKWIND, and featuring Twink and Paul Rudolph, what's not to like ??
Later stuff tended to be more Hard-Rock orientated, but still jammed out nicely.
They may go in as 'Prog Related' with any luck.....

Four previous threads to look through:

And in Prog Music Lounge:

This post by Special Collaborator Certif1ed from the Jan 2010 thread probably sums the band up best: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=64389&PID=3519758#3519758.

They've never actually been formally evaluated on here, and the general consensus is that they might fit in Prog Related, but that isn't something that's easy to achieve - requiring a convincing case for their inclusion to be prepared by a Special Collaborator, and then for our admins to approve the addition having considered the evidence presented to them in it.
