I think that was the B side to Many too Many.

Good song, with nods to the Gabriel era imo..

Home By The Sea
Fading Lights

But I still have to include Entangled, Blood On The Rooftops, & Eleventh Earl Of Mar...

This is me four years later somewhat. Except its as a result of revisiting Wind & Wuthering and realizing that over the decade of not listening to it even once - I've gone from lukewarm to loving it... more than Trick of the Tail (love the parts of it to death but always found it a little patchy). I'm particularly fond of One for the Vine - and ready to give Genesis post 1976 a fair chance.

Track 8: "...In That Quiet Earth" sends tingles up my spine whenever I hear it.

Actually, I quite like "Wind & Wuthering" as a whole.

Pretty much anything from a trick of the tail. I think abacab was when they started to go down the toilet but even that one has a few gems on it.

Yeah, from Abacab I also like "man on the corner" and the title track along with those mentioned. Keep it dark is not too bad either.

From the self titled(shapes)album I also like "silver rainbow." I think that's a rather under rated song. Also, I assume you are including second home by the sea when you just say HBTS.  You can't forget part two. ;)

From IT I also like "the brazilian" a lot. The title track is at least catchy and also "tonight times three" sounds like an epic pop song with a prog instrumental middle section that has a nice build to it so that one is fine by me as well.

I'm not as familiar with the last two but I agree "fading lights" is worthy of a mention. Maybe their last proggy epic. CAS sounds pretty close to neo prog to me since most of the songs seem to be shorter. I don't despise it like some seem to and in some ways it's less commercial than the five or six or so before it but ultimately I admit it does fall a bit short.

Down and Out, Heathaze, Me and Sarah Jane, and Home By the Sea come to mind.

quite rightThumbs Up

Blood on the Rooftops rates a photo-finish second place behind Entangled. I really like many other post-Gabriel Genesis songs too but these stand a notch above all the others. The common thread being a heavy dose of Steve Hackett's writing and playing. Win/win for me.

I like all of A Trick of the Tail and Wind and Wuthering, but Blood on the Rooftops is to me a transcendent piece (still gives me goosebumps). I absolutely adore it.

Just wondering if they are connected or just random guys.
